We need reinforcement. Each new member passes on the idea of tolerance. We are expecting you. Join us!
As an ambassador of the Network for Tolerance, you will search for a space for the next stela within your locality or organize local campaigns for tolerance. Wear the pin as a sign of your engagement.

Membership in the support organization, NETZWERK | STELEN der TOLERANZ e.V. costs:

  • €12/year for trainees, schoolchildren, and students
  • €36/year for all other persons
  • From €100/year for corporate members

The artists

Uniting art and tolerance is the core principle of the Network for Tolerance. At this point, we would, therefore, like to introduce to you the two artists, who designed the stelae.

Karl-Martin Hartmann

Born in Wiesbaden in 1948, he graduated from the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz with a master’s degree in microbiology after having studied from 1968 to 1975. Between 1979 and 1985, he studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt under Johannes Schreiter and Christian Kruck.

Since 1979, he has been organizing and taking part in exhibitions in Germany and overseas. He did his first works in glass in 1982. Since then, he has engaged in many secular and religious glass art projects, including the window of the St. Nicolai catholic church in Kalkar. He lives and works in Wiesbaden

Kerstin Jeckel

Born in Wiesbaden in 1960, she studied free painting and art theory at the Städelschule, Frankfurt under Professors Johannes Schreiter and Raimer Jochims. Has carried out numerous exhibitions and projects since 1985, including artistic concepts for companies and development of exhibition concepts for non-profits.

Amongst other places, her works are in the possession of the art collections of state of Hesse, the art collection of the city of Wiesbaden, the tax consulting firm Kunsmann+Gemmerich, the Wiesbaden Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eckelmann AG, Stiftung Ernsting, Coesfeld, UBS, and in numerous private collections in Germany and abroad. She lives and works in Wiesbaden.
